Cefixime is a cephalosporin antibacterial drug indicated in the treatment of adults and pediatric six months and older with Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections, Pharyngitis & Tonsillitis, Acute Exacerbations of Chronic Bronchitis, Uncomplicated Gonorrhea.

Cefixime USP(As Trihydrate)-400mg Excipients q.s.

Cefixime Capsules are available for oral administration in the following dosage strength: Capsules provide 400 mgof cefixime as trihydrate. These are off white to yellow color granular powder filled in size ’’0’’’ hard gelatin capsules, Purple cap white body

Gastrointestinal - Several cases of documented pseudomembranous colitis were identified in clinical trials. The onset of pseudomembranous colitis symptoms may occur during or after therapy.
Hypersensitivity Reactions - Anaphylactic/anaphylactoid reactions (including shock and fatalities), skin rashes, urticaria, drug fever, pruritus, angioedema, and facial edema. Erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, and serum sickness-like reactions have been reported.
Hepatic - Transient elevations in SGPT, SGOT, alkaline phosphatase, hepatitis, jaundice.
Central Nervous System - Headaches, dizziness, seizures. Hemic and Lymphatic System - Transient thrombocytopenia, leukopenia, neutropenia, prolongation in prothrombin time, elevated LDH, pancytopenia, agranulocytosis, and eosinophilia.
Abnormal Laboratory Tests - Hyperbilirubinemia.
Other Adverse Reactions - Genital pruritus, vaginitis, candidiasis, toxic epidermal necrolysis.

Vaginal candidiasis, systemic candidiasis, mucosal candidiasis including oropharyngeal, oesophageal, non-invasive bronchopulrnonary infections, candiduria, mucocutaneousand chronic oral atrophiccandidiasis.

Fluconazole USP - 150mg Excipients q.s.

Vaginal candidiasis: One Capsule( 150 mg) as a singledose.

Mucosa! candidiasis: 1 capsule daily for 7-14 days.

Dermatomycosis, Onychomycosis: 1 capsule weekly.

Commonly reported adverse effects are nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, headache and skin rash, hepatic toxicity. Mild transient, reversible increase in liver enzymes. In rare cases, anaphylaxis has been reported.

In disorders requiring parenteral administration of vitamin i. e pre- and post -operative treatment, where requirements are increased as in fever, severe burns, increased metabolism, pregnancy, gastrointestinal disorders interfering with intake or absorption of vitamins, prolonged or wasting diseases, alcoholism and where other deficiencies exist.

Usually 0.25 to 2 ml by intramuscular or slow intravenous injection. High concentrations given intravenously may be diluted using parenteral infusion solutions.

Mild transient diarrhea, polycythemia vera, peripheral vascular thrombosis, itching transitory exanthema, feeling of swelling of entire body, anaphylactic shock, and death. Sensitivity to the ingredients listed may occur. Use should be discontinued upon observance of any untoward reaction. Pain upon intramuscular injection may be noted.

Hydrocortisone is a corticosteroid with both glucocorticoid and to a lesser extent mineralocorticoid activity. Hydrocortisone may be given intravenously, by slow injection or infusion, in the form ofa water-soluble derivative such as hydrocortisone sodium succinate or hydrocortisone sodium phosphate whenarapid effect is required in emergencies.

Hydrocortisone Sodium Succinate BP-100mg

The usual dose is the equivalent of 100 to 500 mg of hydrocortisone, repeated 3 or 4 times in 24 hours, according to the severity of the condition and the patient's response. Children up to 1 year of age may be given 25 mg, those aged 1 to 5 years 50 mg, and those aged 6 to 12 years 100 mg.

Hydrocortisone sodium succinate may cause electrolyte disturbances, characterized by hypertension and oedema due to the retention of sodium and water and the increase in potassium excretion. Increased potassium excretion may cause hypokalaemic alkalosis.

Cefixime is indicated in the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms:

Uncomplicated Urinary Tract Infections caused by Escherichia coli and Proteus mirabilis.
Otitis Media caused by Haemophilus influenzae (beta-lactamase positive and negative strains). Moraxella (Branhamella) catarrhalis. (most of which are beta-lactamase positive) and S.pyogenes.
Pharyngitis and Tonsillitis caused by. S.pyogenes & many more

Cefixime USP (as Trihydrate) - 100mg

The pharmacokinetics of cefixime in healthy elderly (age > 64 years) and young volunteers (11-35) compared the administration of 400 mg doses once daily for 5 days. Mean Cmax and AUC values were slightly greater in the elderly. Elderly patients may be given the same dose as the general population. Children under 10 Years: The recommended dose is 8 mg/kg/day of the suspension. This may be administered as a single daily dose or may be given in two divided doses, as 4 mg/kg every 12 hours. The safety and efficacy of cefixime has not been established in children less than 6 months.

Most common adverse reactions are gastrointestinal such as diarrhea (16%), nausea (7%), loose stools (6%), abdominal pain (3%), dyspepsia (3%), and vomiting.

Adults and Paediatric Patients > 40 kg: 500 or 875 mg every 12 hours or 250 or 500 mg every 8 hours Pediatric patients aged 12 weeks (3 months) and older: 25 to 45 mg/kg/day every 12 hours or 20 to 40 mg/kg/day every 8 hours, up to the adult dose. Neonates and infants < 12 waeks of age: 30 mg/kg/day divided every 12 hours, based on the amoxlalllin component. Use of the 156.25mg/5 mL oral suspension Is recommended.

The most frequently reported adverse effects were diarrhea/loose stools (9%), nausea (89), skin rashes and urticaria (3%), vomiting (196) and vaginitls (136).

As monotherapy, are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes. In adults, METFORMIN may be used as monotherapy or in combination with other oral antidiabetic agents or with insulin.

Adults: the usual starting dose is 500 mg or 850 mg Metformin, two or three times a day during or after meals. The maximum daily dose is 3000 mg taken as 3 divided doses. Elderly: the starting dose will be determined after tests have been carried on your kidney function Children: Children 10 years and over and adolescents usually start with 500 mg or 850 mg Metformin once a day during meals or after meals. The maximum daily dose is 2000 mg taken as 2 or 3 divided doses. Treatment of children between 10 and 12 years of age is only recommended on specific advice from your doctor, as experience in this age group is limited. If you take insulin too, your doctor will tell you how to start Metformin.

The most common adverse reactions are nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, abdominal pain and loss of appetite which resolve spontaneously in most cases.

Lisinopril is an angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor indicated for treatment of hypertension in adults and pediatric patients 6 years of age and older, adjunct therapy for heart failure, treatment of Acute Myocardial Infarction

Lisinopril USP - 20mg Excipient - q.s.

Hypertension: Initial adult dose is 10 mg once daily. Titrate up to 40 mg daily based on blood pressure response. Initiate patients on diuretics at 5 mg once daily
Pediatric patients with glomerular filtration rate > 30 mL/min/1.73m2: Initial dose in patients 6 yearsof age and older is 0.07 mg per kg (up to 5 mg total) once daily
Heart Failure: Initiate with 5 mg once daily. Increase dose as tolerated to 40 mg daily.
Acute Myocardial Infarction (MI): Give 5 mg within 24 hours of MI. followed by 5 mg after 24 hours, then 10 mg once daily
Renal Impairment: For patients with creatinine clearance = 10 mL/min and < 30 mL/min, halve usual initial dose. For patients with creatinine clearance < 10 mL/min or on hemodialysis, the recommended initial dose is 2.5 mg.
